Athlete Information
and Consent
Thank you for agreeing to contribute to our campaign debrief. Your input is vital.
Your responses will inform a two-day in-person debrief session in Wanaka in May. As an athlete, you're not expected to attend the debrief.
Who is running this?
BrinkWork is an independent performance and human factors consultancy engaged by Snow Sports NZ to design and facilitate the debrief. The lead practitioner is Matt Harrison, a registered psychologist. BrinkWork is not part of SSNZ.
What you're being asked to do
You will be taken through a short interview by this app. Seven to eight questions, in your own time, on your phone or computer. Voice or text, whichever you prefer. The interview uses an AI-supported question flow that may ask a follow-up based on what you've said — like a conversation rather than a static form.
What happens to your responses?
Your responses are confidential. All responses will be themed across the group and any inadvertent identifiers removed before anything is shared with SSNZ. Individual responses will not be shared. A human (Matt) reads every response personally before any analysis or reporting takes place.
Your email address is the only identifier collected. It exists as a safety contact only. If something you share raises a serious welfare concern, Matt can reach out directly. This is a requirement of a NZ psychologist's code of ethics.
Responses are stored securely and retained in line with professional obligations, then securely deleted. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose and will be stored separately from your responses after Matt's initial review.
This is not a counselling or emergency service
This debrief is about campaign systems, preparation, and experience — not your mental health. If you're going through something and want to talk to someone, please contact your team support or a trusted person directly.
You're in control
You can skip any question. You can ask for your responses to be withdrawn (contact info@brinkwork.co), though once responses are themed and de-identified this may not be possible. Completing the interview is strongly encouraged as part of the team debrief process — it's the only way to incorporate your experience — but the level of detail you share is entirely up to you.
